The British Council has facilitated a partnership between the Encounters Film Festival in Bristol and the Tbilisi International Film Festival to organise DepicT! – a 90-second short film festival. The competition was a part of the Tbilisi International Film Festival and our UK/Georgia 2019: New Horizons season. The shortlisted DepicT! filmmakers, often in the crucial, early stage in their career, were invited to the Tbilisi International Film Festival and Encounters Film Festival, offering them a prime industry platform to gain global recognition.
Encounters is a gateway to the world’s most prestigious awards (including the Oscars®, BAFTAs, and European Film Awards) and provides a great opportunity for the filmmakers to promote their work and make contact with a broad range of international industry professionals, from distributors and producers to the funding bodies and exhibitors, as well as other filmmakers and the enthusiastic short film fans.
