All of our passionate and dedicated teachers meet the highest international standards with formal qualifications and extensive experience in teaching English to adults.

Our minimum requirements for teachers are:

  • education to degree level or equivalent qualification
  • a certificate level qualification in teaching English as a foreign language such as Cambridge University CELTA or Trinity College London CertTESOL
  • at least two years’ teaching experience
  • high proficiency in the use of the English language 

Khatuna Darbaidze

Teacher

I have been teaching English since 2005. I have been teaching different levels and age groups. I have a degree in Linguistics as well as CELTA, YL extension, TYLEC. I enjoy teaching. My primary goal is to create an enjoyable and motivating learning environment for my students, enabling them to develop natural fluency and confidence in speaking English. I love travelling and meeting interesting people, reading books and gardening.

Rusudan Khodeli

I’m Rusudan. I have been actively engaged in teaching English Since 2003. My qualifications include BET, CEM, CELTA, TYLEC. I have been teaching English since 2012 at the British Council. I want my students to learn English in an environment that is enjoyable and motivating so that they can learn to speak naturally and with much confidence. Outside of teaching, I have various hobbies such as painting, knitting, watching movies and spending  time with my family

Shorena Navrozashvili

Teacher

I’m Shorena and I’ve been teaching English since 2003. My teaching qualifications count certificates such as CPE, TEFL, CELTA, TYLEC, DELTA. My work experience involves teaching all age groups and levels. However, I particularly enjoy teaching adults. My lessons are communicative based on a lot of speaking and interaction which gives students an opportunity to express themselves using the language as naturally as possible. In my free time I enjoy reading and collecting shells.

Nino Manvelishvili

I’m Nino and I’ve been teaching English since 2017. In 2019 I received my CELTA and since then I’ve been teaching at British Council Georgia. My lessons are mostly focused on encouraging interactive communication between students. I like to promote a friendly atmosphere for students to speak English and to improve their fluency. In my free time, I like hanging out with my friends, going shopping, travelling, and walking on the beach.

Ana Laitadze

I’m Ana and I’m from Georgia. I hold an MA degree in English and CELTA certificate. I have been teaching English since 2002 to almost all age groups and levels. My goal is to teach my students academically and equip them with knowledge and skills that enable them to change their lives for better, accomplish their goals and be the best they can. I love travelling, taking photos, and collecting memories of meaningful moments in life.

Ani Elisabedashvili

I’m Ani and I’ve been teaching at British Council since 2013.  I have enjoyed teaching my students very much. I am committed to my students’ success as well as providing them with an enjoyable learning environment and experience. I teach them how to think and speak in English, and therefore, get the essence of the language, by using authentic material. In my free time I enjoy reading about Art and Archaeology, therefore, love hiking and exploring sites of Archaeological significance.

Anna Arzumanyan

I’m Anna. I was born and raised in Georgia, and I’m of Armenian nationality. I have a bachelor’s degree in English Philology. In 2022, I began working as a teaching assistant at the British Council. The following year, I obtained my CELTA. In my classes, I strive to create an interactive atmosphere and motivate my students. Outside of teaching, I have a passion for traveling and volunteering. In my leisure time, I enjoy reading books, playing chess, and watching TV shows.

Asal Oormazdi

I’m Asal and I’ve been teaching English at the British Council since 2023. I obtained qualifications in English, including a bachelor’s degree and a CELTA certification. I’m a person who always follows her goals, primarily in dreams and ultimately in reality. I have learned that giving up isn’t an option and an achievement is inevitable. I love drawing with my daughter, reading books, listening to music, watching movies, swimming, and exploring the cultures of new countries.

Daria Filipova

I’m Daria, and I've been teaching English since 2009. I hold a degree in linguistics, along with certifications including CELTA, DELTA, and numerous other professional development credentials. With my extensive background, you can trust that my lessons are structured and designed to help you achieve your goals efficiently. Beyond teaching, I am also a mother and wife. I enjoy traveling and spending time outdoors. I look forward to welcoming you to my lessons at the British Council.

David Wilby

I’m David originally from London, and currently residing in Tbilisi, I have been teaching English as a Foreign Language for over 25 years. My passions are music, art and writing. From an early age I loved to read and went on to complete a B.A in English Literature at the University of Teesside. Since then, I have travelled widely in my career as an English Teacher and taken every chance to get to know different cultures and languages.
