Nabihah Iqbal, the versatile British DJ and producer played at Mzesumzira Club in Tbilisi. Formerly known as Throwing Shade, she has taken her real name to stand proudly as a female British artist making electronic music. Her debut album Weighing of the Heart (2017) took a different direction with all her own instrumental and vocal recordings and bringing the guitar into her sound. In addition to working as a musician, she also appears as a radio presenter on NTS where she explores music from different parts of the world. Beyond music, her diverse experience includes an MPhil (focused on African history) from Cambridge, experience working in human rights law and a black belt in karate. In addition to her live set, Nabiah will lead workshops for local musicians focussed on sharing her experience of DJing and marketing her work online.
