British Council supports Kolga Tbilisi Photo 2014

Exhibitions, workshops and lectures

1-8 May 2014

British Council in Georgia actively supports exhibitions, workshops and lectures taking place in partnership with Kolga Tbilisi Photo 2014 Festival. Curators and photographers from all over the world are involved in the events.

This year we support Laura Hynd to take part in the Ladies Only exhibition. Laura Hynd will also lead  workshops for young photographers on 2-3  May at the Karvasla Museum.  Address: 8, Sioni Str. Tbilisi. The topic of the workshop is ‘The Letting Go – Accessing Your Within’

Laura Hynd graduated in Graphic Arts and Design and worked as a Creative Designer and Photography Editor before pursuing her love of making photographs.

Though her photographic work is grown out of documentary, her personal work, The Letting Go (2011) “a rich and personal view on perceptions of women”, has been featured in publications including the British Journal of Photography, Firecracker, 1000 Words and Uncertain States and exhibited worldwide. Her most recent work, Lady into Hut (2014), an exploration in transformation and family history, has been published and exhibited widely, in the UK, Portugal and India and will be on display during the Kolga Tbilisi Photo 2014.

Laura Hynd successfully combines her personal art photography with editorial commissions. She regularly photographs for editorial clients including the Telegraph Magazine, New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Stella, and the Independent Magazine.

Laura Hynd  is a visiting lecturer at many British universities including Nottingham Trent, Arts University Bournemouth, University of the Arts Farnham, and University of West England.

Laura is currently writing a fictional short story whilst producing books and multimedia pieces of her work
