The British Council and the National Center for Teacher Professional Development of Georgia are happy to invite teachers of English to register for the Future English Online Teacher Community (OTC) training programme.
Our Online Teacher Community (OTC) training programme is a 22-hour continuing professional development (CPD) opportunity for English language teachers involved in general education. It is delivered through the British Council Online Teacher Community (OTC) platform.
You’ll complete three modules of our Teaching for Success (TfS) programme, take part in highly interactive forums, join live sessions and submit self-reflective journals.
The training programme will take place over eight weeks of study from 10 February 2025 to 30 March 2025 alongside your normal teaching work. This is an important aspect of the programme because it allows you to be supported by facilitators and ELT experts to try out new ideas and techniques in your classroom and then reflect on these with the support of an online community of practice.
The programme consists of the following components:
- Nine hours of self-access study of TfS modules
- Three hours of webinars led by an international moderator
- Three hours of live sessions with a group of colleagues led by a facilitator
- Three hours minimum contribution to asynchronous discussion forums (equivalent to a minimum of three posts and 18 comments per participant)
- Four hours spent completing your e-portfolio and self-reflection journals (three per each module plus one as an overall reflection on the OTC programme)
Selection criteria
- You must be a Georgian citizen, teaching English at a school in the Georgian education system.
- You will need basic IT skills so that you can actively engage in activities within the Online Teacher Community platform. These include logging into email accounts, posting in forums, joining Zoom sessions, switching from different tabs and resetting passwords.
