In partnership with the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports of the Autonomous Republic of Ajara in Georgia, we presented our achievements in implementation of the professional development project aimed at the improvement of the festivals management.The presentation took place on 15 March 2019 in Batumi.

We organised a Festivals for Development Conference for governmental institutions and festivals organisers in Batumi, Ajara on 14 March 2018 to raise awareness about the importance and contribution of festivals to the cultural and economic development and their role in the development of creative and cultural industries.  

Key personalities of the UK festivals presented the best cases and innovative models of collaboration between the British Festivals (Edinburgh Festivals, FringeBrighton Festival, Unlimited, Gloucester, etc).

 

Events/Trainings implemented in the project also include

  • 20-23 June 2017. Donna Close, festival producer and strategic consultant conducted training ‘Planning and Organising the Festivals’.
  • 24-28 July 2017. Owen McNeir, Arts Marketing trainer conducts training ‘How to develop a Marketing Plan for your festival’.
  • 14 March 2018.We organised Festials for Developement Conference in Batumi.
  • 5-8 June 2018 Owen McNeir from Festivals and Events International (FEI) conducted a Fund-Raising Training for the Festivals organisers. 
  • 26-28 November 2018 Teona Beridze, the Deputy Minister of Education, Culture and Sports of the Autonomous Republic of Ajara, Salome Murvanidze, Chief Specialist at the Ministry, Andro Enukidze, Artistic Director of the Batumi State Drama Theatre and Nino Khakhubia, Head of PR and Advertising Office at the Department of Tourism and Resorts of Adjara visited Edinburgh for working meetings.
